Maestro Gorbik's orchestral programming includes of the best examples of Russian, American and European music for string orchestra. Such a program brings wonder to listeners, among whom is one of the the most famous in Russia, Archbishop Matthew, and many of his friends and colleagues in Russian Orthodox Church.

Maestro Gorbik firmly believes there are no boundaries among countries and continents (our Russian-American company is named Music of the Continents), because Classical Music is eternal and it unites people all around the World.

Grammy Nominee and Recording Academy Jury Member Vladimir Gorbik Conducts the Capital Symphony Orchestra

On January 24, 2023, the Makovets Vicariate Spiritual and Educational Center, located on the Sviblovo Estate, hosted a concert of classical music presented by the Capital Symphony Orchestra* under the baton of Vladimir Gorbik. Maestro Gorbik serves as the Orchestra’s Artistic Director and Principal Conductor. He is also an Associate Professor on the faculty of the Symphonic and Choral Conducting Department at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. He is also a Grammy nominee, and he is the Regent of the Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Moscow’s Alekseevsky District.

The concert was attended by the Governor of the North-Eastern and South-Eastern Vicariates of Moscow, Archbishop Matthew of Egorievsk, Bishop Innokenty of Nikolaevsk and Bogorod, clerics and parishioners of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity, also located on the Sviblovo Estate, and guests of the center.

As part of this creative event, the musicians performed a program in two sections:

1. Wolfgang A. Mozart, Divertissement in D major K.136 and Samuel Barber, Adagio for Strings
2. Peter I. Tchaikovsky, Serenade for Strings, Op. 48.

The orchestra’s performance inspired great applause; the audience asked the Maestro to perform an encore. In his answer, Vladimir Alexandrovich decided to perform the final part of the Divertissement (from French divertissement - entertainment, amusement) to let the grateful audience go home happy.

The Capital Symphony Orchestra was founded in Moscow in March 2017 by Vladimir Gorbik, an already renowned Moscow conductor at that time. In May 2017, the first professional recording of the ensemble was made at the State House of Radio Broadcasting and Sound Recording by the outstanding Russian sound engineer Pavel Lavrenenkov. On May 27, 2017, the newly formed orchestra performed for the first time on the stage of the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

In 2019, with renowned sound engineers Svetlana Spasskaya and Gennady Papin, the CSO made a CD recording of Schubert and Mendelssohn symphonies.

It has performed in the Great and Small Halls of the Moscow Conservatory, the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International Music Theater, the Theater of Nations, the Clayton Westermann Stage at Adelphi University’s Concert Hall (Garden City, NY, USA) as well as other musical venues. The orchestra's activities are covered by Russian and foreign media.
