The participants studied Russian and American sacred music at depth. The Moscow-based maestro showed the students the depths of prayer that is achieved in Sacred Church singing as offered by many different composers. Gorbik instilled the practice of singing with prayer in one’s heart in the Divine Services. He demonstrated his conducting techniques and showed his students how these techniques work to bring the desired results. The masterclass participants were very grateful to learn these difficult techniques under Maestro Gorbik’s direction.
